The 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD has Arrived at Lexus of Highland Park
The sleek, all-new 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD has finally arrived at Lexus of Highland Park. And though all Lexus models should be celebrated due to their specific advancements in technology, beautiful body lines, and unmatched performance, the 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD deserves its own national holiday.
When a new coupe is introduced into the marketplace, manufacturers usually take an existing sedan, cut a few inches off the frame, drop two doors, and lower the roofline. However, for the 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD, Lexus incorporated the best of three current vehicles: the IS C convertible, the IS sedan, and the GS sedan.
The RC 350 got its floor plan from the IS C convertible, as well as its reinforced sills for one of the stiffest chassis around. The RC 350 also shares its forward structure in front of the A-pillars with the GS sedan for a large engine compartment, and the rear is all IS sedan, offering one of the widest tracks of any Lexus vehicle.
Lexus has high hopes with the new 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD, and initial sales estimates are set at 25,000 units over the next 18 months. And while the RC 350 will be the bulk of the total sales, Lexus is also hoping that the powerful RC F will fill the void for an all-out performance vehicle with outrageous looks to match.
There is one thing to take note: Lexus has not offered a fixed-roof coupe since the SC400 which hasn’t been produced for almost 15 years.
Inside the 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD, the driver and passengers will be wrapped in all the similar features Lexus owners are accustomed to, including leather seats and soft touch materials throughout. Nevertheless, the sporty coupe might have a little getting used to since the front seats do sit further back than expected. And even though the RC 350 AWD does have a rear seat, they could be tight for some.
Under the hood of the new 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD is the same V-6 engine currently used in the IS350. This motor produces 306-horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Each all-wheel drive equipped RC 350s also have a six-speed automatic transmission.
A popular option for the new Lexus RC 350 is the F Sport trim, which will showcase a Lexus LFA-inspired gauge pod that features a power-actuated sliding bezel, similar to the one found on current IS F Sport models. Outside, take a look at the upgraded 19-inch alloy wheels at all four corners, with adaptive dampers, four-wheel steering, and high-friction brake pads.
Driving the new Lexus RC 350 AWD could be as calm and comfortable as operating a simple Lexus ES, but due to the firm front seats and stiffer suspension, some might feel the ride is a bit harsh.
Lexus of Highland Park is proud to welcome the new 2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD to our family, so come down today to see one in person, or to learn more about any of the other 2015 Lexus models available for immediate delivery.
