Lexus NX 200t Upgrades and Changes
We are now in the second year of Lexus’ first ever compact crossover, and chances are, if you were a fan of the 2015 Lexus NX 200t, you are more than likely going to be a fan of this one. However, you should not go into the 2016 NX 200t thinking that you are just going to get a rehashed or recapitulated 2015 NX 200t; in that respect you would be mistaken. No, the new model compact crossover offers a few new bells and whistles that certainly work to both make the vehicle feel new and stand out.
Now, a lot of these upgrades are strictly to do with aesthetics (why fix what is not broken, you know?). For example, the new 2016 Lexus NX 200t adds a few seriously interesting colors into the mix of things, including the likes of “Autumn Shimmer” or “Blue Vortex” or “Ultra White.” Too, this new model will also be available with both front- or all-wheel drive, not to mention the vehicle comes in both a 300h hybrid and turbocharged model.
As far as the power train is concerned, the new 2016 Lexus NX 200t’s engine is a 235 horsepower, 2.0 liter turbocharged four that pushes around 259 pounds per square feet of torque, all nicely wrapped up with a six speed automatic transmission and a fully independent suspension system. This grants the driver with a none too shabby 0 to 60 miles per hour time of somewhere in the ballpark of seven seconds.
Inside, the new 2016 Lexus NX 200t is, for lack of a better phrase to describe such a thing, gorgeous. The folks over at Lexus have taken all things F Sport and infused that with the luxury Lexus has been known for throughout the years. They seem to have combined just the right amount of track inspired looks with sleek, sexy design, the result of which is quite magnificent to say the least.
Beyond that, one of the upgrades that definitely sticks out has to do with the 2016 NX 200t’s telematics functionality via the freshly minted Lexus Enform Service Connect. This is a free (well, free for a year, then it becomes a subscription based service) that allows Lexus owners the ability to connect their smartphone to their vehicle via the Internet in order to view certain vehicle information (e.g., maintenance alerts and warning light notifications). Sadly, as of right now the new 2016 Lexus NX 200t upgrades will not include the likes of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but all things come to those who wait.
