Highland Park to Have an Artful Evening
Here in Highland Park we have the opportunity to enjoy some amazing local venues and events in the community, and from January 8th – the 28th, local art lovers will have a wonderful opportunity to experience The Art Center. “In-View is a great opportunity for The Art Center – Highland Park to showcase its wonderful works from within,” said Executive Director Gabrielle Rousso adding “It is such an exhilarating experience for our members and faculty to take pride in the fabulous talent that surrounds them.”
The juried showcase will show four categories, elementary school, middle school, high school, and adults that live in Highland Park. The exhibition is sponsored by the Highland Park Cultural Arts Commission and The Art Center. The Art Center is a non-for-profit community art center committed to art education and enrichment for all. The center offers more than 400 classes and workshops throughout the year. Winter classes will again commence January 11th and include new offerings like print making techniques, adult beginning ceramics, and partners in creativity.
The Art Center has issued a public invitation to their annual ‘In-View Member and Faculty Exhibition’ and awards, and Art is Alive in Highland Park ceremony on Friday January 8th. This special opening night of the “In-View” annual art exhibition will be a showcase for the work of artists from the local The Art Center community. Goers will be able to enjoy a variety of styles of art when viewing the more than 70 original pieces. Artists of the highlighted works are students, and emerging professional artists of The Art Center community. In addition to taking in all-of-the artful splendor, guests will also have the privilege of touring the new state-of-the-art printmaking studios as well. The exhibition is slated to run through January 28th and awards will be denoted for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Mayor Rotering of Highland Park will have the honor of presenting the awards to the recipients of all four categories.
