Revamped Lexus LS Coming in 2018
The Lexus LS has been a long-standing favorite among drivers, but the model’s long-lasting name has raised concern about its modernity. That’s why the LS is due for a fresh makeover in 2018, and car spies have already caught glimpses of the new design.
The new 2018 Lexus LS is slated to be a competitor with both the Mercedes S-Class series and BMW 7 series with the carmaker taking steps to include top-notch comfort, finish and innovative technology. It’s also theorized that Lexus could be developing the LS with a mind on self-driving technology and increased ecological awareness. This could tie into Lexus’s recent statement that the brand plans to launch hydrogen fuel powered luxury cars, and the 2018 LS could be part of that development.
Regardless of speculation, Lexus International Executive Vice President Mark Templin says that the LS will feature “some cool interior stuff.” As vague and teasing as this statement is, it’s clear that Lexus is taking a good look at the LS’s needs in order to come up with the best fits. According to Indian Auto Blog, Templin says that the car maker is focusing on “craftsmanship” and “technology” for the 2018 Lexus LS. “We are going to do some things with the next-generation LS interior that we have never done with interiors before.”
It’s hard to paint a picture before you see the subject, but the 2018 Lexus LS is sure to be a masterpiece worth remembering.
