Get a Final Look at the Impressively Redesigned 2016 Lexus RX Before Release!
Gearing up for its all-new fourth-generation debut next month, the next generation of the new Lexus RX is looking as poised as ever and ready to make some serious waves in the increasingly dynamic modern crossover world. Since the RX’s revolutionary inception almost twenty years ago, which played a large part in successfully kicking off the first wave of luxury crossover vehicles, it’s remained a reliable staple and the repeated consumer favorite in the segment. Of course, it’s certainly not hard to understand why the new Lexus RX has remained the best-selling luxury crossover in the U.S. since its debut, considering its impressive history of accolades in regard to performance, safety, and value from J.D. Power, Motor Trend, and Kelley Blue Book just to name the most prominent.
It’s been some time now since the first Lexus RX helped to change the luxury game, but naturally, there’s more than a little effort going into making the new RX better than ever. On sale in November, packages will include standard 350 horsepower and hybrid 450 horsepower models in both front and all-wheel-drive versions, along with a performance-enhanced F-Sport version at both levels. Lexus has been touting the addition of a redesigned and highly efficient 3.5-liter V6, which makes the most out of its capabilities with the additional help of Lexus’ E-Four AWD intelligent driving system.
On the outside, the confident evolution of the Lexus aesthetic is clear from the first glance. With a new longer profile and a large, imposing grille that pushes the 2016 RX and its sleek angles decidedly into the realm of progressive and almost futuristic styling, there’s definitely no mistaking this new vision as a product of backward-looking nostalgia. With a smooth, open roofline that offsets the fierce angles of the RX’s base and front end, however, there’s also definitely no mistaking its precise balance of bold style and streamlined sophistication for anything but a Lexus. Suffice to say, we’re definitely looking forward to the reinvigorated debut of a true Lexus classic.
So far, journalists and automotive industry professionals seem to be more than pleased with the performance of the new RX, and have noted its quiet and smooth ride, improved handling and braking, and the tactile sense of power in its new engine. There’s definitely still a lot of information and opinion to come as we approach the RX’s official sales debut, but we’re already feeling more than justified in expecting it to continue the admirable legacy of one of the most steadfast Lexus models in recent decades. Of course, we’ll be on hand here at Lexus of Highland Park to keep you up to date with all of the developments leading up to release day, when we’ll be more than ready to help you to get a more personal introduction to the newest shining star in the Lexus lineup!
