Lexus Introduces a Design that Took 15 Years
Lexus just got one million cool points. Put down the hair gel and don’t bother with the leather jacket, Lexus won this one and it will take a motorcycle-driving mastermind with all the coolest dance moves to kick them down.
The brand just spent the last 15 years creating a color so exhaustive and precise that Lexus engineers and designers can only make two cars a day when applying a coat of this new paint. However, it’s more than just a paint, with a minimum of 40 separate metallic-like layers and pigments that reflect like tiny blue mirrors, Structural Blue is the Paul Newman of car colors.
It’s reported that Lexus designers were inspired by the morpho butterfly to create this shade of blue, choosing to model Structural Blue on the Lexus LC. Structural Blue is a representation of the patience and commitment Lexus has for their design, it is just astounding how much time and effort actually went into something that could seem so generic to the average person.
Other than the color, there is not much to be known about the inside work on the LC. The 2018 Lexus LC already has a 10-speed-transmission, a 471 level horsepower, and goes from 0-60MPH in 4.4 seconds.
The newest LC model is also the first multistage hybrid ever, coming with a 5.0L V8 engine. The vehicle also has drive mode select, ridiculously satisfying interior design, and some other jaw-dropping features that you won’t believe. That’s right, Lexus is shattering ceilings at auto shows, not to mention their groundbreaking reports of having a self-driving car by 2020?! Competitors be prepared, and car lovers start building an extra garage onto your house- Lexus is only getting better.
This type of commitment and promise of design is found at every Lexus establishment- especially your local Highland Park Lexus Dealership. Stop by today!
