Lexus Introduces Most Powerful Vehicle to Date
In a statement that reads “The Lexus RC 350 F Sport will feature enhanced driving dynamics in addition to exclusive exterior and interior design features,” Lexus plans to deliver a super-powered 5.0 liter V8 that will not only be the car maker’s most powerful V8 performance car to date, but will also be heavily modeled after the IS F CCS-R race car.
This Lexus Circuit Club Sport Racer is an exclusive and effortlessly mastered the terrain at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb back in 2012. Practically hovering above ground, weighing 700 pounds less than the production version of the CCS-R, this IS F was constructed to specifically conquer the treacherous switchbacks in the Race to the Clouds.
The superlight weight of carbon fiber along with a dramatically stripped down interior (minus power-everything) a full cage roll, racing brakes, and lowered suspension made it the perfect match for the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
The speed and agility of this performance vehicle and its team of professionals – Jeff Westphal, Tom Dyer, and Ken Dobson – was tested once again in 2013 at NASA’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill. The race car and its drivers finished fourth.
It’s likely that Akio Toyoda wants to make to make it abundantly clear that the IS F is more than a show car. A mighty 416 horsepower and 371 pound-feet torque powers this road monster.
Its bright orange mica paint job is one-of-a-kind and 18-inch allow wheels feature Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA A 050 tires. A limited slip disc differential provides the eight-speed automatic transmission permission to send a mass of potency to the rear-wheels.
A very similar performance engine will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show under the cover of the 2015 RC F. The difference in speed will likely be significant as the new Lexus will have more than 450 hp and 383 pound-feet of torque.
Having been properly vetted in several of the most intense racing events on this side of the Pacific, it’s pretty obvious that the 5.0 liter V8 Lexus engine will be quite capable of holding its own in any matchup against the BMW M Sport and the Cadillac V Sport.
