The Art Center Highland Park Celebrates the 27th Annual Gogh Green Recycled Art Sale
Today, Lexus of Highland Park is very pleased to help spread the word about a singular upcoming local event that we think deserves some special attention! The very creatively and appropriately named Gogh Green Recycled Art Sale, a public auction and sale of ‘recycled’ or previously-owned artwork, is being hosted by The Art Center Highland Park from July 24th until August 14th. Kicking off this year’s 27th annual celebration with a benefit auction whose proceeds will be going to aid arts education in the local sphere, the sale remains a great way to help contribute to worthy local causes while having some fun browsing for some ‘new-to-you’ pieces donated to The Art Center by collectors of all kinds.
Collecting a wide array of donations made to The Art Center Highland Park over the last year, including those from private collections, galleries far and wide, and even from other institutions, this year’s sale will be filled with selections that include paintings, ceramics, posters and prints, sculpture, jewelry, and some fine antiques, just to name a few. Early birds and those interested in getting a little bit more personally acquainted with the event proceedings are especially invited to take part in the opening auction on July 24th from 7pm-10pm, which will be accompanied by drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and tickets (which are tax-deductible!) are available for $75 in advance and for $85 at the door.
Providing a friendly and engaging atmosphere for arts education at all ages, The Art Center Highland Park has been serving the local community with an impressive variety of classes, outreach programs, and special events like the Gogh Green sale for over fifty years. With over 400 classes available annually, and in such diverse fields as photography, painting, ceramics, jewelry, fibers, and sculpture, TAC has got something for everyone, and remains a respectable lynchpin in the artistic character of the local area.
In addition to providing classes and fundraising efforts for arts education, The Art Center also offers gallery space for an evolving schedule of stimulating contemporary art exhibits, coordinates with other local institutions to expand local exhbiting potential in partnership with public institutions and businesses, and is the provider of more than 200 need-based scholarships for youth workshops and camps in the greater Chicago area. With so many respectable contributions under their belt, it shouldn’t be tough for anyone with an appreciation for creativity to support an organization as truly worthwhile as The Art Center Highland Park. And we’re definitely looking forward to seeing everyone out enjoying the fruits of TAC’s labor while helping to plant the seeds for another great season of creative inspiration. Today, Lexus of Highland Park is more than pleased to shine a spotlight on this outstanding local organization, and we’ll hope to see you at the sale!
