Lexus RX 350: A Great Luxury SUV
Matthew DeBord of Business Insider recently raved about the Lexus RX 350, a midsize crossover that has been part of the Lexus family lineup and a game changer in the SUV market since 1998. In fact, out of 3 top SUVs, DeBord praised the RX 350’s power, superb comfort, affordability and new styling.
“You really can’t go wrong with the RX 350,” he wrote. “This is the one that doesn’t require a lot of thought.”
So what is it about the RX 350 that makes it such a popular and obvious pick? For starters, the model just underwent a redesign for the 2016 model year, giving it that in-demand crossover look with an aggressive design that turned heads and got people talking. It’s sharp but smooth, flashy but understated; in short, the RX 350 crosses off a lot of check marks on the modern buyer’s list, keeping the 18-year-old name fresh and appropriate in today’s market.
DeBord wrote that the standard, 3.5L V-6 he test drove is very punchy with 296 horsepower, making it a “perfectly capable power plant” with an all-wheel-drive system perfect for any weather condition. When it comes to efficiency, the RX 350 and RX 350 F Sport both get a very respectable 27 MPG on the highway, with the hybrid versions bumping that up to 30.
Inside, a stitched interior available in a variety of premium leathers and trims, such as Parchment leather paired with the exclusive Matte Linear Dark Mocha trim, make for a cozy yet elegant ride. Heated and ventilated front seats with a Lexus Memory seat system programmable to three drivers makes for a highly comfortable ride, while the dual-zone climate control ensures a pleasant experience for everyone.
Other luxury touches, such as the available Touch-Free Power Rear Door or ambient lighting, highlights the intuitive technology that accompanies the RX 350. One of the most visual technology cues, however, is in the Lexus Enform App Suite, an interactive touchscreen on the vehicle’s center-console display that offers you access to your favorite mobile apps. Just connect it with your phone to search local listings, stream music, listen to live radio and more. Additionally, a voice-activated Navigation System featuring 3D city views, a dual-screen Sear-Seat Entertainment System, Remote Touch technology navigation, Bluetooth technology and more are available throughout the cabin.
With a full package like the RX 350, it’s no wonder that Lexus has continued to be a top competitor in the SUV market. In fact, those of us here at Lexus of Highland Park recently received a shipment of brand new 2017 RX 350s in a variety of trims, such as the RX 350 F Sport in Ultra White paired with a Rioja Red leather interior with scored aluminum trim.
